The Arm Lift Surgery Procedure
Arm lift surgery is performed in a hospital under general anesthesia. The Arm lift surgery technique usually involves a combination of inner arm skin excision and/or liposuction. The procedure is tailored for every individuals condition and needs and gives excellent results. Arm lift technique must take careful consideration of injury to nerves and blood vessels as also not to do excessive undermining of skin which can lead to seroma formation and skin blood supply issues. The procedure will result in a lengthy scar along the inner arm area.
Most patients are able to resume normal daily routines within one week after treatment. You will be cautioned against engaging in strenuous activity or lifting heavy weights for a few weeks following arm lift surgery. Results will be noticeable immediately. Once the initial swelling has subsided, the full results of arm lift surgery will be apparent.
The patient is usually discharged the same day of the surgery on a prescription of antibiotics and pain medication with a follow up on the 4th day for dressing change. Most patients will notice bruising numbness and swelling in the operated area which disappears over a few weeks. Stitches are generally absorbable and therefore are not required to be removed. Patients are made to wear a mild support garment for 3 to 4 weeks. Long term scar medication is prescribed for better scar recovery. Any residual scar at the end of the scar remodelling phase is dealt with by laser resurfacing.
Arm lift surgery can be performed in combination with other body contouring procedures to provide you with a more comprehensive body makeover.
